As always, the Globe and Mail, has churned out another terrific deal to pay attention to. With Acura’s sales up 20% in April, the Acura MDX Sport-Util is causing quite a stir.
Acura Canada has slapped a $4,500 sales sweetener on the MDX, though this one applies to the after-tax amount. That means buyers will pay more in tax, of course.
This is also a factory-to-dealer rebate, which means you will need to negotiate for all or part of it; it won’t be publicized in your local dealer showroom. While you’re negotiating, work on getting the dealer to include a “dealer discount” based on the difference between wholesale dealer cost and the retail posted price. That could amount to a further discount of $2,000 or more. So total discounts on the MDX: potentially $6,500.
This, my friends, is a damn good deal if you’re looking for an MDX. If you’re not looking for an MDX and would prefer the MKT from Ford via Lincoln, you’re also covered.
Deals of the Week, of course, was interested in what Ford might be doing to juice sales of the MKT, which also did well in the CR test. We found discounts that could add up to nearly $12,000.
