BMW: Obtain Recall Clearance Letter

So you’ve purchased an Ultimate Driving Machine, a BMW, south of the border and it’s time to import into Canada. In order to import the car, you must obtain a Recall Clearance Letter from BMW. The recall clearance letter must be presented to the Registrar for Imported Vehicles (RIV) upon entry into Canada. Currently, BMW lines include the BMW 1-Series, BMW 3-Series, BMW 5-Series, BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo, BMW 6-Series, BMW 7-Series, BMW X3, BMW X5, BMW X6 and the BMW Z4.

$1000 Fine: 18.09 Miles Per Gallon
$2000 Fine: 16.80 Miles Per Gallon
$3000 Fine: 15.68 Miles Per Gallon
$4000 Fine: 14.70 Miles Per Gallon And Less.

RIV FEE: $195 + GST (pos. QST)
